Literature games and the future of book publishing

7 June 2016 - Scholar Jonathan Ostenson posits of the evolution of games: “There’s a place for a purposeful study of videogames… because they represent some of the most important storytelling in the 21st century. This new medium… represents our society’s efforts to push the boundaries of storytelling in meaningful ways,” which shows that at least some videogames can share the literary quality of a book.

SPH, StarHub ink deal for cross-media, marketing tie-ups

8 March 2016 - Singapore Press Holdings and StarHub signed a memorandum of understanding in March 2016 to take advantage of opportunities in the converged media space. As part of the partnership, they will jointly develop local content to be published across their print, online, mobile and TV platforms.

Digital publishing is quickly becoming a mainstay in the publishing sector

Riding on this trend, MDA collaborated with the Singapore Book Publishers Association (SBPA) to launch the Content Digitisation Programme to encourage publishers to venture into digital publishing, as well as increase accessibility to content produced from Singapore.

Mobile gaming revenues to exceed US$7 billion in Southeast Asia by 2019

25 June 2015 - The mobile gaming industry in Southeast Asia reached over US$1 billion in revenues in 2014. Analysis from Frost & Sullivan shows that Southeast Asia was the fastest growing region for mobile games in the world, driven by the rapid increase of broadband users, usage of smart devices and social media.
